Litigation professionals’ needs are constantly evolving due to the dynamic nature of the business. To help meet these changing needs, CT, a Wolters Kluwer business, today announces a host of new product updates and versions to its Litigation Solutions suite. Today’s announcement includes new products and updates from CT TyMetrix, CT Summation and CT Compliance & Governance.

Controlling costs, improving performance and increasing collaboration continue to be among the legal professional’s top priorities. To help address these challenges, CT is releasing the following: CT TyMetrix 360° Version 6.10, CT’s Matter Metrix, CT Summation Blaze LG/iBlaze 2.8, CT Summation Enterprise 2.5 and CT Summation CaseVault 4.5.

“Improvements in technology, varying regulations and more responsibilities have changed the legal professional’s needs in recent years. We pride ourselves on staying ahead of those needs and being in-tune with our customers’ biggest challenges,” said Gene Landoe, president and CEO of CT and Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services. “The latest features and versions coming out of our Litigation Solutions suite are based on direct feedback from our customers and on our knowledge of the challenges they face every day. That knowledge combined with new product and process management processes leads to superior technology and quality. Only CT provides legal professionals with the broad, rich solutions they need in today’s demanding environment.”

New Technology Meets Litigation Professionals’ Advanced Needs

Today’s announcements boast new technological capabilities to help meet the litigation professional’s increasingly demanding needs. The following enhancements have been added to CT’s solid portfolio of technology-enabled Litigation Solutions:

  • CT TyMetrix 360° Version 6.10: CT TyMetrix 360° is a continually evolving suite of Web-based tools for end-to-end e-billing, matter management and performance metrics. This version introduces a new Rapid Deployment Model (RDM). This Rapid Deployment accelerates the on-boarding—or implementation—process by allowing clients to have their matter network turned on in just 30 days. This model was created based on the company’s 12 years of experience in on-boarding clients in e-billing or matter management solutions. In addition to the RDM, version 6.10 provides users with new ways of creating and manipulating reports, allowing them to see a clearer picture of their legal spend. Also, AJAX-based technology and optimizations in calendaring and data exchange functionality create a more efficient work environment. Other key benefits of this version include new administration settings and recalibrated workflows that make client-firm collaboration quicker, clearer and easier.

  • CT’s Matter Metrix: Powered by industry-leading CT TyMetrix 360°, CT’s Matter Metrix—a new offering—is a simple and affordable online solution for managing matters. This flexible, easy-to-use platform helps in-house counsel track matters, financial spend and documents in a collaborative, online workspace. CT's Universal Service of Process connector electronically routes an incoming service of process directly to CT’s suite of matter management solutions, eliminating the need to re-key data fields and streamlining workflows. As part of CT’s complete suite of litigation management solutions, Matter Metrix will enable each step of a user’s departmental workflow and will grow as needs change. With the addition of CT’s Matter Metrix, CT now gives legal professionals the option to choose from four levels of matter management scalability—from CT Matter Metrix to the three versions of CT TyMetrix 360°: Professional, Premium, and Platinum.

  • CT Summation Blaze LG/iBlaze 2.8: CT Summation Blaze LG/iBlaze is an award-winning technology and proprietary litigation support solution. Designed for the desktop or laptop, it helps users efficiently manage case information with the benefits of full-text imaging/PDF support, OCR on-the-fly, electronic evidence support, and comprehensive production. An improved user experience and simplified administrative tools are the hallmarks of version 2.8. New tagging and foldering functionality allow for quicker document review, and a standard lexicon checks text fields for accuracy and consistency. With a new secure license key, administrators can now add nodes to an existing installation without reinstalling, and can also quickly display and mass updates case information mappings to update or change servers and easily move cases.

  • CT Summation Enterprise 2.5: CT Summation Enterprise combines the power of the Microsoft® SQL Server database engine with the familiar Summation interface so users can store, quickly search and review millions of documents per case. It bundles CT Summation iBlaze with CT Summation WebBlaze to provide access to case information via traditional LAN, Web browser and mobile-laptop implementations. New eDiscovery rules coming out in December require lawyers to respond much more quickly to the challenge of electronic evidence.  CT’s Service of Process is part of the solution—the faster customers get a handle on the context of any litigation, the faster they can preserve and begin to manage the content required. The rules also contemplate working with digital content digitally, and for that, legal professionals need software. CT Summation Enterprise is one piece of that software solution, and CT Summation CaseVault (see below for more details) is the other. The latest version of CT Summation Enterprise, 2.5, now makes it easier to manage content by offering a Global Replace feature that allows users to make large-scale changes to their databases.

  • CT Summation CaseVault 4.5: Combined with leading edge production, security, collaboration and search capabilities, CT Summation CaseVault is an ASP-hosted solution that provides the perfect platform to search and review large stores of electronic evidence. Working with corporations and law firms, CaseVault has created workflows that mirror the needs of attorneys and paralegals. For voluminous document collections, CaseVault 4.5 allows its users to auto-allocate sets of documents based on any criteria to individual folders that can then be accessed by the review team. When finished with their review, the legal team can use the new saved shared search feature to run a privilege-check over the review folder and submit for "on the fly" TIFF conversion if redaction is required. This version also delivers true native review, enabling the user to view his electronic evidence in the application that the author created it in. Users can also toggle between the native view, an html text view and an image view, all within the same review window, enabling a seamless review experience regardless of the evidence format.

All of the solutions covered in today’s announcement are being unveiled at the Association of Corporate Council’s (ACC) 2006 Annual Meeting in San Diego from October 23-25, 2006.
