Legal professionals often have massive amounts of documentation to review, and many times, a team of reviewers in different locations who need to see it. Yet, they want to ensure they’re gathering key evidence and are not missing pertinent information. Today, the ability to manage large document review projects got easier. CT Summation, a Wolters Kluwer business and the leader in litigation support and eDiscovery solutions, has introduced CT Summation CaseVault 4.5.

This latest version of the ASP-hosted solution enables faster and more accurate review for large document and multi-party review projects. And, it allows users to review and see native format documents just like scanned paper documents, allowing for seamless review regardless of format.

“The document review process can be very labor-intensive and costly,” said Peter Florian, CT Summation’s vice president of product marketing and eDiscovery. “By streamlining the process and ensuring that it’s more organized, we hope to help our customers reduce the risk of overlooking key evidence and decrease the overall expense of the review process.”

A more organized review process

CT Summation CaseVault 4.5 offers richer functionality to ensure a more organized document review process through:

  • Shortcut keys: Gives reviewers a single function keystroke to quickly save changes and move between documents and search hits. This feature allows for a fast and accurate first-pass review.

  • Auto-Allocate Feature: Simplifies the administration of a large review team by distributing and redistributing the document review workload among the review team. This helps to ensure that each document is reviewed once –and only once –by the attorneys.

Increased search functionality for more accurate document review

This latest version enhances the already sophisticated search functionality methods on CT Summation CaseVault. The new features enable accurate review, fast and easy document retrieval and categorization by allowing:

  • Shared Search: Lets administrators and users define complex searches, save them, and share searches with other users. Automatically conducting searches and document relocation that would otherwise need to be done manually helps to reduce administrative work. And, it lessens the instance of error in categorizing documents by automating the categorization according to pre-defined searches.

  • Bates Find & Retrieve: Allows users to conduct Bates find and retrieve on individual document pages.

  • Search Results in Grid Format: Users can view any search results in grid format, making organization easier.

CT Summation CaseVault 4.5 is debuting at ALM’s LegalTech conference in New York City. Legal LegalTech takes place from Jan. 30 –Feb. 1st 2006 at the Hilton New York Hotel.
